Being What You Want
I recently received a chain letter. You know the one – send out to 7 friends right now and in 4 days your wishes will come true. The consequence of not forwarding is usually some terrible unforeseen event. They’re usually sent by some well-meaning hopeful person on your email list. Sometimes I delete them, sometimes I read them. This past month however, I HAD to comment on it before I passed it on.
The Prayer of St Theresa:May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to youMay you be content knowing you are a child of God….
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of you.
Great message, no matter what your spiritual persuasion. However, I don’t find magical things happening from just forwarding an email in some formulaic fashion. Magical things happen when I step into the INTENTION of a thought or a desire and start looking for the CONFIRMATION of that in my life. If I want peace in my life I notice when I’m feeling peaceful. I create a peaceful environment in my home. During a conflict I breathe and relax my body until I find a peaceful place from which to speak.
It’s more about feeding the energy of what I WANT in my life than focusing on the LACK of it. As I practice this way of being more and more I find that I wish and hope for less and I AM more of what I want. What are you wanting more of in your life right now? Take moments throughout your day and acknowledge it when it shows up. You will notice how that will become more of your experience. Michael Dooley, of Totally Unique Thoughts, says it nicely, “Thoughts become things, pick the good ones.”

I agree whole heartedly with you. To live in Grace is to choose high quality thoughts to resound in your life walk+to notice w/gratitude when they come to fruition in whatever form they take. Thankyou for the reminder!
Laureen,
Grace is one of my favorite words and a word that still has a lovely feel to it. It brings to mind the unheralded miracles, serendipitous blessings and flow that is life when we move out of the ‘me and mine’ sphere. Thanks for dropping that jewel on my site. Take care!
