Role Play, Anyone?
Sometimes the roles you play in life – mother, daughter, father, son, business owner, lover, friend, etc. – can seem to encapsulate your essence. So much energy and time is invested in maintaining these roles that you can come to identify yourself with them, believing them to be ‘who' you are.
Consider that a role could not possibly contain the full magnificence of your divine essence . . .
Who am I? is the only question worth asking and the only one never answered. It is your destiny to play an infinity of roles, but these roles are not yourself. The spirit is non-local, but it leaves behind a fingerprint, which we call a body. A wizard does not believe himself to be a local event dreaming of a larger world. A wizard is a world dreaming of local events. Deepak Chopra
Like a scene on a stage, with actors and set, foreground and background, take a moment to scan the panoramic vista of 2009. What roles dominated your world? Which new roles surfaced, front and center? Which roles did you reluctantly accommodate? Which ones diminished your vibrant capacity to show up brilliantly?
Roles are pathways to exploration. They create deep grooves in your experience and add rich textures to the landscape of your life. Relinquish and release the roles of yesteryear and engage the dynamic character of now.
